How do I convert CSV to PDF for sharing or printing?

Upload the CSV and the converter turns it into a PDF you can share or print. Documents keep the page size, margins and page breaks saved in the file, and a plain text file, which has none, is laid out on A4 pages. Pictures such as JPG or PNG are each placed on a page.
Can I still edit the content after converting CSV to PDF?

Not the way you edit the CSV. The PDF is a delivery format: it fixes the layout so it renders identically everywhere, which is exactly why it resists editing. Keep the CSV as the working copy and regenerate the PDF whenever the content changes — round-tripping back out of PDF always loses something. PDF is Adobe’s Portable Document Format from 1993, standardised as ISO 32000 and now the universal fixed-layout document.
Will the CSV to PDF conversion keep my fonts and formatting?

Headings, lists, tables and images are kept, and the fonts used are embedded in the PDF, so it looks the same in every viewer. A font that is not installed on our conversion servers (Calibri, for example) is replaced with a similar one, so line breaks can shift. An image file becomes a PDF page that shows the image.
Can I merge multiple CSV files into one PDF?

Not on this page: each CSV you upload becomes a separate PDF. To combine them, convert them here first, then join the PDF files into one document with /pdf-merge/.
What page size and orientation will the PDF use?

A document keeps the page size and orientation saved in it, so a Word file set up as US Letter landscape stays that way. A plain text file has no page setup and comes out as A4 portrait. The converter has no page size or orientation setting, so change the page setup in the original file before converting if you need something different.
Is the PDF searchable (selectable text)?

Yes when the CSV contains real text (DOCX, ODT, HTML, TXT). Image-based CSV produces an image-only PDF — to make it searchable, use /pdf-ocr/ after conversion to run optical character recognition.
Can I password-protect the PDF after conversion?

Not on this site. The converter has no password or permission settings, and epub.to does not have a PDF password tool. Download the PDF and add a password in a PDF editor that supports it, such as Adobe Acrobat.
How big will the PDF file be?

It depends mostly on the pictures. A text document usually gives a small PDF, because only the text and the parts of the fonts it uses are stored, while photos and scanned pages make up most of the size of a larger file. The converter has no compression setting; to shrink a finished PDF, run it through /pdf-compress/.
Is my CSV file private during PDF conversion?

Yes. No person reviews the content, and both the CSV and the PDF are deleted automatically about 24 hours after conversion.
Will the PDF pass print-shop preflight (300 DPI, CMYK)?

Not automatically. The converter has no print settings: it does not convert colors to CMYK, add bleed or raise image resolution, so pictures keep the resolution they had in the CSV. Ask your print shop to check the file, or prepare the print version in a layout program.
Does the converter work with scanned CSV images?

Yes — a scanned-page CSV (JPG, PNG, TIFF) converts straight to PDF. If you need the PDF to be text-searchable, follow up with /pdf-ocr/ to run OCR over the scanned pages.
