Will the text still reflow to my screen after converting DOCX to PDF?

No — this conversion pins the layout. A DOCX adapts its line breaks to whatever width and font size the reader is using; the PDF fixes page geometry at conversion time, so on a phone you get the whole page scaled down rather than text rewrapped to the screen. That is the right trade when the layout must not move, and the wrong one when the file is for reading on a small device. DOCX is inspectable, diffable and readable by Google Docs, LibreOffice, Pages and every modern word processor. PDF is Adobe’s Portable Document Format from 1993, standardised as ISO 32000 and now the universal fixed-layout document.
Can I still edit the content after converting DOCX to PDF?

Not the way you edit the DOCX. The PDF is a delivery format: it fixes the layout so it renders identically everywhere, which is exactly why it resists editing. Keep the DOCX as the working copy and regenerate the PDF whenever the content changes — round-tripping back out of PDF always loses something.
Will the PDF open directly in a browser?

Yes, and the DOCX would not have. Browsers ship a decoder for PDF and none for DOCX, so a DOCX link forces a download while a PDF renders inline. That is usually the deciding factor when the file is going onto a web page rather than into an application. A PDF looks byte-for-byte identical on every machine and every printer, which is why contracts, invoices and academic papers all live in it.
Will the DOCX to PDF conversion keep my fonts and formatting?

Headings, lists, tables and images are kept, and the fonts used are embedded in the PDF, so it looks the same in every viewer. A font that is not installed on our conversion servers (Calibri, for example) is replaced with a similar one, so line breaks can shift. An image file becomes a PDF page that shows the image.
Can I merge multiple DOCX files into one PDF?

What page size and orientation will the PDF use?

A document keeps the page size and orientation saved in it, so a Word file set up as US Letter landscape stays that way. A plain text file has no page setup and comes out as A4 portrait. The converter has no page size or orientation setting, so change the page setup in the original file before converting if you need something different.
Is the PDF searchable (selectable text)?

Yes when the DOCX contains real text (DOCX, ODT, HTML, TXT). Image-based DOCX produces an image-only PDF — to make it searchable, use /pdf-ocr/ after conversion to run optical character recognition.
Can I password-protect the PDF after conversion?

Not on this site. The converter has no password or permission settings, and epub.to does not have a PDF password tool. Download the PDF and add a password in a PDF editor that supports it, such as Adobe Acrobat.
How big will the PDF file be?

It depends mostly on the pictures. A text document usually gives a small PDF, because only the text and the parts of the fonts it uses are stored, while photos and scanned pages make up most of the size of a larger file. The converter has no compression setting; to shrink a finished PDF, run it through /pdf-compress/.
Is my DOCX file private during PDF conversion?

Yes. No person reviews the content, and both the DOCX and the PDF are deleted automatically about 24 hours after conversion.
