Check those specifically rather than assuming the whole document made it.

Will the MD open directly in a browser?

Yes, and the ODT would not have. Browsers ship a decoder for MD and none for ODT, so an ODT link forces a download while an MD renders inline. That is usually the deciding factor when the file is going onto a web page rather than into an application. Markdown is the lingua franca of documentation, README files, static site generators and note-taking apps, and it diffs cleanly in git.

How big an ODT file can I convert to MD?
