Will the RTF look formatted if the MD had no formatting?

It will look plain, because there is nothing to recover. An MD carries no styling information, so the converter applies a clean default — a readable body font, sensible margins, paragraphs separated where blank lines were. Headings are inferred where the source used a recognisable convention, and everything else arrives as body text. MD is Markdown, John Gruber’s 2004 plain-text syntax for writing structured documents that stay readable as source.

Why would I use RTF rather than a modern document format?
