How do I convert PNG to JPG without losing image quality?

How much quality will I lose going from PNG to JPG?

At quality 80-85 the difference is invisible at normal viewing distance and the file typically drops by 60-80%. The catch is that it is one-way: re-saving the JPG repeatedly compounds the artefacts each time. Keep the PNG as the master and regenerate the JPG from it whenever you need a new size. PNG is the right choice for screenshots, logos, line art and anything with hard edges or transparency — no ringing, no colour banding. JPG is lossy: the image is transformed with a DCT, quantised, and entropy-coded, with a quality knob controlling how much is discarded.
What about EXIF metadata when converting PNG to JPG?

In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the JPG. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.

How small can the JPG file get without visible artifacts?

Are my PNG files private during conversion?

Why is my converted JPG file bigger / smaller than I expected?

A PNG file with strong compression (e.g. heavily lossy JPG) often grows when re-encoded to a lossless JPG (PNG, TIFF), and a high-bitrate lossless PNG often shrinks dramatically when going to JPG / WebP. The ratio depends on image content (photos compress differently from line art).
