Does converting WebP to PSD restore the quality that was lost?

No. The compression artefacts already baked into the WebP are ordinary pixel data now, and PSD preserves them perfectly rather than removing them. The file usually gets larger, sometimes several times larger. It is still worth doing before editing, because further edits will not stack a second generation of loss on top. PSD keeps every editing decision reversible, which is why it is the master format for design work that will be revised. WebP is still second-class outside the browser — print workflows, older Office builds and some phone galleries do not accept it.

My WebP is animated — what happens to the other frames?

Only the first frame survives, because PSD is a still format with nowhere to store the rest. If the animation matters, target a format that animates, or convert to a video container instead and keep the motion. PSD is huge, opens properly in almost nothing outside Adobe, and has to be flattened before anyone can view or print it.

What about EXIF metadata when converting WebP to PSD?

In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the PSD. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.

Can I batch-convert hundreds of WebP files to PSD at once?

What resolution and dimensions will my PSD file have?

Default behaviour is 1:1 — your PSD output has the same pixel dimensions as the source WebP. Use a separate /resize-image/ step after conversion if you need to downscale or upscale as part of the workflow.

How small can the PSD file get without visible artifacts?

For JPG / WebP, quality 75-85 typically gets the file 60-80% smaller than the source WebP with no visible difference at normal viewing distance. For lossless targets (PNG, TIFF), expect smaller savings — usually 5-30% via better deflate / LZW compression.

Are my WebP files private during conversion?
