Will the Markdown include the cover image from the EPUB?

Yes — the cover image is placed on the first page of the Markdown. Delete it if you only want the manuscript body; the rest of the document is unaffected.

How big is the Markdown compared to the EPUB?

Why does my Markdown have weird spacing between paragraphs?

CSS `margin-bottom` on `<p>` in the EPUB sometimes maps to a Word "Space After" value the editor doesn't expect. Select-all and apply a paragraph style to normalize. The Markdown content is correct; only the visual spacing differs.
