Why does my MOBI file refuse to convert?

DRM, in almost every case. A protected MOBI is encrypted and tied to an account, and no converter can decrypt it — ours included. Files you created yourself, or bought from a DRM-free store, convert without any trouble at all. Amazon stopped accepting MOBI for new publishing in 2022, and the format cannot express modern CSS, embedded fonts or fixed layout.

Does the MOBI to EPUB converter handle DRM-protected files?

No — DRM-encrypted MOBI files (Adobe ADEPT, Kindle KFX with personal device key) are encrypted at the bit level and cannot be processed. Strip DRM with the publisher's authorized tool first, then convert the unprotected MOBI to EPUB here.

Can I read the converted EPUB on my Kindle / Kobo / Nook?

Depends on the EPUB format. MOBI and AZW3 work on Kindle (Paperwhite, Oasis, Scribe). EPUB works on Kobo, Nook, Apple Books, and any reader except older Kindles. For Kindle compatibility specifically, target AZW3 (KF8) — it preserves layout better than legacy MOBI.

Is my MOBI file private during conversion?

How long does MOBI to EPUB conversion take for a full novel?

It depends on the size and length of the file. Small documents and images are usually ready quickly. Long videos take the longest, because most video conversions re-encode every frame.

Why does my EPUB look different from the MOBI in the reader?

Reflowable ebooks are not pixel-perfect by design — each reader chooses its own font, margins, and line spacing. The EPUB contains the same content as the MOBI; visual differences come from the reader app, not the conversion. Use a fixed-layout target if pixel fidelity matters.
