PSD to JPG Conversion FAQ

How do I convert PSD to JPG without losing image quality?
+
Upload your PSD file, then our converter applies format-aware quality optimization for JPG output. For lossless formats (PNG, TIFF, BMP) we preserve every pixel; for lossy formats (JPG, WebP) you can tune the quality factor before download. JPG is the JPEG standard from 1992, served under the .jpg, .jpeg and .jfif extensions alike, and after three decades it is still the format most cameras and most websites use for photographs.
They are flattened, permanently, into one composited image. Blend modes, masks, adjustment layers and editable text are all resolved into final pixels because JPG has no structure to hold them. Keep the PSD as the working master and treat the JPG strictly as an export. PSD keeps every editing decision reversible, which is why it is the master format for design work that will be revised. JPG has no transparency, degrades further every time it is re-saved, and produces visible blocking on flat colour and sharp text.
At quality 80-85 the difference is invisible at normal viewing distance and the file typically drops by 60-80%. The catch is that it is one-way: re-saving the JPG repeatedly compounds the artefacts each time. Keep the PSD as the master and regenerate the JPG from it whenever you need a new size. JPG is lossy: the image is transformed with a DCT, quantised, and entropy-coded, with a quality knob controlling how much is discarded.
In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the JPG. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.
Several files in one job need a paid plan. Free use is one file per conversion, one conversion an hour. On a paid plan you can add several files to one job, then download each result on its own or all of them in one ZIP.
Default behaviour is 1:1 — your JPG output has the same pixel dimensions as the source PSD. Use a separate /resize-image/ step after conversion if you need to downscale or upscale as part of the workflow.
For JPG / WebP, quality 75-85 typically gets the file 60-80% smaller than the source PSD with no visible difference at normal viewing distance. For lossless targets (PNG, TIFF), expect smaller savings — usually 5-30% via better deflate / LZW compression.
Yes. Uploaded PSD files are processed on our own servers and are never viewed or shared. Uploads and converted images are deleted automatically about 24 hours after conversion. The full privacy policy is at /privacy/.

PSD

PSD (Photoshop Document) is the native file format for Adobe Photoshop. PSD files store layered images, allowing for non-destructive editing and saving design elements. They are crucial for publishing-grade graphic design and photo manipulation.

JPG

JPG files use lossy compression optimized for photographs, furnishing small file sizes while ensuring visual grade.
